GAS PRICES AND INFLATION

I live in Pennsylvania, a ‘battleground state’ and am inundated with political ads although I keep my use of the media to a minimum.

This post is not an indictment on any political party. But I think some of their ads could us some qualifier in their presentation. I constantly hear ads tying the increase in gas prices to inflation. I’m sure that there is an increase in gas prices somewhere, but not where I live.

I live southeast of Philadelphia and listen to a Philadelphia all-news station broadcasting on both AM and FM. I have no idea as to the size of the area they cover. Just the other day they had a piece concerning the Labor Day weekend and the current gas price. They reported that gas prices are forty-four cents cheaper than this same time last year. How large the area of this decrease, I have no idea. But I doubt the decrease is isolated to their broadcasting area.

So, it seems that some political ads could use some qualification.

WRITER’S FORUM  CRIME WRITERS OF COLOR

WEBSITES HELPFUL TO WRITERS

This is a series of posts which, I think, will be beneficial to writers.

But first, I would like to include my usual warning about using websites.

Whenever you check a website you are, in my opinion and I talk from experience, being put on a list for sale. So, expect the possibility of being bombarded by ads from companies you, perhaps, have never heard of and have no interest in.

By the same token, I feel that once you call a business for information you are also put on a list, for sale, of similar companies to the one you have called.

That’s just how it is in today’s society.

I hope you find the information offered in these posts helpful.

                      FRAUDULENT COVID-19 CLAIMS

Recently I heard an ad for Trump’s campaign covering illegal alien fraudulent claims for Covid-19 benefits. Stated was the fact, I hesitate to use the word fact and rather be able to use the word facts, for in any political ad only the fact which benefits the politician is used and often does not resent the entire picture. The fact in Trump’s ad is guilty of this. Here are further facts which offer a clearer picture of the relevance of the presented statement.

In the ad it is claimed that illegal aliens are guilty of submitting 500 million dollars in fraudulent Covid-19 claims. I’m not going to fact-check this and assume it is accurate. You might think how terrible this is. And you are correct. But wait. An additional fact offers the reality of the true level of this fraud.

I have now heard more than once the values I am about to present to you.

There was a total of over 280 Billion dollars worth of fraudulent Covid-19 obtained by the American public. I’m sure there were some organized efforts made to defraud the government, but many of the guilty actors could be your neighbors, or perhaps YOU. It is estimated if all the guilty parties were prosecuted it would take over 200years. Do I hear a sigh of relief.

So, if you want to know where the true guilt lies in America, look in the mirror.
