POEMS & FLEETING THOUGHTS
REALITY II
Contrast the lives
Of the safe and the doomed,
The safe play video games,
The doomed
Struggle to survive.
POEMS & FLEETING THOUGHTS: MAINTAINING LIFE’S WORTH
CREATIVE IMMORTALITY
Those who create,
Who pour their souls
Into life
Should not age,
But continue
To create
As their strength
Provides power.
POEMS & FLEETING THOUGHTS: TIME
The Value of Time
If time is meant
To be merely filled,
Why possess
Time?
POEMS & FLEETING THOUGHTS: SOFTENING THE PAST
My memories wander
To the days of my youth,
Long gone,
Softened by years
Memories dwell in
A fantasy world,
Hiding the scars
And the pain.
POEMS & FLEETING THOUGHTS: THE MIND AND HAPPINESS
The world may

If you are able
To think.
POEMS & FLEETING THOUGHTS: A WRITER’S PLIGHT
A WRITER’S PLIGHT
You sweat,
You agonize
To provide words,
At some point after submitting
Time past with no response
You ask yourself,
‘Is anyone fucking listening?’
A writer’s life

You may have friends
Others involved
With the same mission,
But when it comes
To work
You are alone,
POEMS & FLEETING THOUGHTS: SPLITTING WOOD
SPLITTING WOOD
On a crisp
October day
I once split wood
The entire afternoon,
Never tiring,
Never straying
From the mission
To keep winter warm,
Now,
Many years later
Walking is sometimes
A chore,
But I remember
Those October days.
POEMS & FLEETING THOUGHTS: FORGETTING OUR FELLOW MAN
In this land,
Why is it
That when we gain wealth
The poor of the land
Are forgotten?
POEMS & FLEETING THOUGHTS: NIGHT
Night shuts down
The day’s life.
As mine
Comes alive
With memories
And monsters
Too real.
