those words left unsaid
surface when the mind’s quiet
like low ebb reef plants
that cling to the rocky shore
vanishing with rising tides
endlessly reappearing
while a child prayed…
in that brief moment
all of the dreams disappeared
life that whiff of smoke
was randomly blown away
the gods had nothing to say
